Why was my LinkedIn account blocked? How can I resolve the issue?

Recently, some friends have said that they have encountered the situation of being unable to log in to their accounts . In fact, there are mainly two situations in which LinkedIn accounts are blocked (login is restricted) . Today I will share with you how to solve it if it is blocked. It is strongly recommended to save it.

01The first case

On the LinkedIn official website on a computer or the LinkedIn app on a mobile phone, after entering the LinkedIn account and password and clicking Login, you are unable to log in normally and a prompt message such as "There was a problem, please try again" or "An unexpected error occurred, please try again" or similar appears.

The main reasons are:

1. Frequently changing IP addresses , resulting in IP addresses being in different places and countries and not being fixed;

2. Frequently switch between different terminal devices or browsers to log in to LinkedIn;

3. Bind third-party plug-ins on the computer or mobile phone to perform various illegal functions (ps: LinkedIn has not officially launched any apps or plug-ins other than LinkedIn);

4. Within a certain period of time, one or more operations are performed quickly and frequently , such as quickly and frequently visiting other users' LinkedIn profile links to view their profiles, quickly copying and pasting messages with the same content to add friends, or quickly copying and pasting messages with the same content to send to one's own LinkedIn friends, etc.;

5. Frequently modifying LinkedIn profile information ;

6. Frequent or large-scale deletion of LinkedIn friends.

▍The first case

Strictly speaking, it is not actually considered that your LinkedIn account has been blocked. It is mainly because your LinkedIn account has been identified as a risky account by LinkedIn's security mechanism, so temporary security restrictions have been placed on your LinkedIn account.

Solution: Use Google (Chrome) browser to log in to LinkedIn . If you have been using Google (Chrome) browser before, clear all caches (cookies) of Google (Chrome) browser and try to log in to LinkedIn again.

02The second case

On the official LinkedIn website on a computer, after entering your LinkedIn account and password and clicking to log in, a clear prompt will appear, such as " Dear user, your account has been restricted and is temporarily unavailable."

The main reasons are:

1. The same person registers and uses multiple LinkedIn accounts;

2. Multiple people share the same LinkedIn account;

3. Registering a LinkedIn account with false information , which is often done by filling in a random or fabricated initial name when registering a LinkedIn account;

4. The personal profile information of the LinkedIn account is not standardized. It is common for the name in the LinkedIn personal profile to contain product keywords and job titles, and the personal profile, work experience or education history to contain website links or contact information;

5. Newly registered LinkedIn accounts send a large number of friend invitations;

6. Sending a large number of messages with the same or similar content in a short period of time , such as adding friend invitations, but the acceptance rate is low and many people report that LinkedIn does not know this person;

7. Frequently log in and out of LinkedIn;

8. The LinkedIn account is detected to be stolen or destroyed;

When you encounter such a situation, the only solution is to upload the corresponding identity documents (ID card or passport) according to the prompts on the LinkedIn official website, and wait for the official LinkedIn email to notify the review result after identity verification. LinkedIn will explain the reason for the account being blocked and whether it can be unblocked in the email. In addition, do not believe in any other form of LinkedIn account unblocking method or unblocking service.

03 Pay attention to account maintenance

When registering a LinkedIn account, first of all, we need to comply with the rules and requirements for LinkedIn account registration and information filling . We strongly require that you fill in your real Chinese name . Secondly, if you need multiple LinkedIn accounts, you must register on different terminals and devices, and also keep them on different terminals when you log in to LinkedIn daily.
